Westcombe Park 24 Wharfedale 22
Westcombe Park edged a thrilling encounter at home to Wharfedale on Saturday 24-22.
Wharfedale opened the scoring after just five minutes through quick winger Neil Baggett and Andrew Baggett added the conversion.
Park soon hit back though as captain for the day, Jon Moyce claimed their first try and a second was scored by centre Rory Damant.
Combe continued to apply the pressure on the Yorkshire side and eventually were awarded a penalty try.
Another Neil Baggett try left the half-time score 19-12 to Westcombe Park.
Wharfedale continued to attack after the break and through a converted try and penalty they led 22-19.
Combe hit back almost immediately with a second try for hooker Moyce, and this gave the home side a lead they refused to surrender.
A last minute penalty for Wharfedale almost snatched victory for the visitors but it drifted wide and Park held on for the win.
