Gillingham boss Martin Allen is staying focused despite their early-season form in League 1

Criticism of Gillingham’s early-season form won’t get to boss Martin Allen.
Gills have failed to score in three defeats so far and host a Brentford side on Saturday who are among the favourites to win League 1.
There may be concern in the stands over the lack of goals but Allen is staying focused.
He said: “I don’t read the newspapers, I don’t read the forums. I just don’t do it.
“I’ve got a good staff of John Schofield and Carl Muggleton. We watch videos and DVDs and do the right thing.
“I can’t be dealing with forums and what they say, with all due respect. People have got an opinion, of course but I listen to my players, my staff and make decisions.
“I’ve no idea if players avoid papers and forums. I would hope so if they use their intelligence. The only people they’ve got to worry about is themselves, myself and the staff."
