Invicta Dynamos keep up challenge with victories over Milton Keynes Thunder and Cardiff Devils
10:50, 24 February 2014
Invicta Dynamos forward Juraj Huska’s goal-scoring love affair against Milton Keynes Thunder continued on Sunday night.
Huska scored for the 10th time against the Thunder this season after netting in the 8-3 victory in the NIHL South Division 1 clash at Silver Blades as the high-flying Mos continued to pile on the pressure on leaders Chelmsford.
But Invicta, second and just three points behind Chelmsford, did not have it all their own way against the visitors.
The Thunder, who arrived in Gillingham with just 10 players, opened the scoring before Andy Smith equalised with the first of his two goals.
The visitors took the lead again early in the second period before Huska struck to make it 2-2. Invicta took the lead after Marek Nahlik made it 3-2 before Daniel Hammond scored to make it 4-2.
Further goals from Shaun Wild, Daniel Fudger, captain Anthony Leone and Smith completed the comfortable win, the second of the weekend for the Mos, after Saturday’s 6-3 victory against the Cardiff NIHL Devils in Wales.
Nahlik (2), Nicky Lewis, Daniel Hammond, Huska and Callum Fowler were on target for Invicta.
