Formula 1 cars set for Brands return

13:44, 18 October 2006

RACING fans have the chance to witness first hand the unforgettable power of Formula 1 cars when Brands Hatch hosts Race Car Live.

The Kent circuit has been without a Grand Prix for 20 years, but this show gives the opportunity to see the cars in action.

A wide variety of championships and machinery will be on display, including a 2006 R26 Renault F1 car.

And one lucky punter will win the chance to ride in a Minardi two-seater F1 car. The 700bhp, V10-powered car will also perform high-speed demonstration laps.

Entry to the show is free. For a chance to win the F1 ride fans must find one of 10 golden tickets, inserted randomly into show programmes.

Ticket holders will be entered into a prize draw with nine runners-up receiving hot laps in a Le Mans style JP1 prototype sports car.

The overall winner, however, will experience the incredible G-Forces, acceleration and braking that are the reserve of a 200mph Formula 1 car.

The event takes place on Sunday, October 29.
