Gillingham v Huddersfield Town
MANAGER Ronnie Jepson believes Gillingham are on the verge of League 1 safety but would like another few points to make certain.
A run of three straight victories has seen the Gills surge into the comfort zone and victory against high-flyers Huddersfield on Saturday would virtually guarantee their survival.
Jepson said: "It’s been a difficult end to the season and the players could have hidden but they haven’t and hopefully we can produce a few more results to keep us in this league.
"I’d like a couple more wins but I’m not sure what the point tally needs to be. A couple more wins might do it."
Jepson believes the togetherness in his squad, which is now looking stronger than ever, has been a major factor in turning their own fortunes around.
He said: "Towards the end of the season the squad has been coming together and I wish it would have been like that a couple of months ago.
"It’s nice because even the lads on the bench like Neil Harris and Michael Flynn haven’t been sulking. They’ve been fantastic and we are all pulling together and that’s quite refreshing."
