Gills plan La Manga trip
11:06, 11 June 2008
Gillingham will be heading for a week’s training in La Manga next month.
The Gills will head to the Spanish resort on July 8 for four days worth of training ahead of their first pre-season match on July 15 against Stevenage.
“It’s not going to be a holiday,” insisted manager Mark Stimson. “It’s going to involve some serious training and in three or four days we’ll be looking to get in 12 sessions, training three times a day.
“The sun will be out and the lads will have three or four hours each day to chill and enjoy themselves but then it will be back to training.
“We’re looking forward to it and it will be great for the players to get together and we’ll make sure we act professionally.”
