Gills youth team boss quits

SCOTT FITZGERALD has quit his role as Gillingham's youth team manager for a similar position at Millwall.
Fitzgerald admitted it was a tough decision to leave the Gills but the pull of his former club and a chance to test himself at a higher level was too much to resist.
He said: “I was desperate to coach a team up against the best and in Millwall’s division they play Chelsea, Arsenal and West Ham.
“I’ve been at Gillingham for four months and I loved it and I did have second thoughts about leaving.
“The chairman has been fantastic to me and the new manager has been great. I really believe the first team are going places.”
