STEVE BANKS has become the latest Gillingham player to be linked with a move away from Priestfied.
The keeper has been targeted by Scottish Premier League side Hearts and manager Neale Cooper has stated that the club could let Banks go.
He said: "I’ve heard little rumours about it but there’s been nothing confirmed.
"We still need to get Tony (Bullock) back as we need two or three keepers and we’ve only got young Danny Knowles as cover.
"If it’s right for us to let Steve Banks go and he wants to go then we will have to have a look at that situation in the next couple of days."
Hearts’ new manager George Burley had earlier mentioned Banks as a possible solution to his goalkeeping problems.
Burley said: "The only back-up we have for Craig Gordon is Jamie McDonald and he is still a teenager.
"Steve is a keeper I know well."
