THE future of the Gillingham-based Invicta Dynamos ice hockey side has been secured after the English Premier League champions were awarded the franchise for the Ice Bowl.
The present management team has been awarded a two-year deal following negotiations with the owners of the Ice Bowl Starburst Ltd.
The news comes a week after one newspaper report claimed that the club would cease to exist and that directors Jackie and Andy Mason would be forced to launch a “Save the Dynamos” campaign after they returned from holiday in Las Vegas.
Jackie Mason said: “We have been working hard to put the necessary plans in place for the new season and, of course, are extremely pleased that we have secured the franchise.
Several parties had tendered to take on the franchise after the last franchise, held by Dave Hodge, ran out at the end of last season.
Sponsors Kelly Cartons have pledged their continued support for the new season.
