Brands Hatch hosted a thrilling finale to the British Touring Car Championship on Sunday.
Honda driver Andrew Jordan worked his way through the field from the back of the grid in the final race, with ninth place enough to secure the crown.
Jordan went into the meeting leading the standings but his title chances were in doubt after rival Jason Plato won the first two races.
Fellow contender Gordon Shedden triumphed in the last race but his hopes of retaining the championship were ended by Jordan.
New champion Jordan, who finished fifth in the first race and was unplaced in the second, said: “It was my aim at the start of the season to win the title and we’ve done it. It’s just such an emotional feeling.
“It’s hard to explain. It’s relief but mostly complete joy to have won this as a team.
“I have felt a lot of pressure these last few weeks but I knew what we had to do.”
He finished the championship seven points clear of runner-up Shedden.
