Gillingham striker Danny Kedwell says he will not be setting himself a personal goal target for the season

Danny Kedwell insists he won’t be setting any personal targets next season.
The 30-year-old striker has hit double figures in each of his three campaigns with the Gills but injury setbacks last season left him on 10.
For a striker who has always topped the goal-scoring charts, it was a blow. And so he won’t be making any predictions this season.
He said: “I am not setting targets. I have always done that and all my life I have always hit my target but at Gillingham, I have never got to it.
“Maybe this time I won’t say anything and I will do better than I have done.”
Kedwell scored 14 goals during his debut season with his hometown club and he followed that up with 16 during Gills’ League 2 title-winning season.
After agreeing a new two-year deal in the summer, Kedwell now hopes his goals will help the Gills push on up League 1.
He said: “The target is to go up to the Championship, obviously but as long as we do better than we did last year and we are more comfortable and not worrying about relegation, I would be happy about that. We can then go from there, push on and get into the Championship.”
