Kent will be ready and raring to go for Tunbridge Wells Cricket Week that gets under way on Sunday.

That’s the verdict of assistant coach Matt Walker, despite Kent playing their first t20 opener in Somerset on Friday night.

They return to LV= County Championship action when Worcestershire visit The Nevill, looking to bounce back from their 289-run defeat at Gloucestershire on Wednesday.

Worcester made it five games unbeaten this season with a third win at home to Essex this week, with Pakistani spinner Saeed Ajmal stealing the show with 13 wickets in the match, including 7-19 in the second innings.

Walker said: “We’ve had the first t20 to distract us in a good way but we are ready and raring to get going again on Sunday, even if there is not much time in between to prepare.

“Worcester are going well, top of the table and flying with a good overseas player but Tunbridge Wells Week has historically been good to us over the years.”

Walker admitted the 128-run defeat at New Road in Kent’s opening Division 2 game of the campaign had been ‘frustrating’ but added: “We had a chance to win the game, but it wasn’t to be. We’re not looking for revenge but we want another win.”
