Kent skipper criticises 'shoddy' displays

ROB KEY endured a baptism of fire in his first competitive week as Kent captain, suffering an innings defeat to championship rivals Durham and a 112-run drubbing in the C&G Trophy to Somerset.
The brace of home defeats left St Lawrence a fairly quiet and gloomy place come Sunday evening but Key was honest in his assessment.
"We bowled poorly and didn't bat well either." he said. "There's a long way to go for us if we're going to bowl like that for the rest of the campaign.
"In the championship game we bowled at least one, sometimes two, four-balls every over and we have to do better than that.
"Our performance throughout this week has been nothing short of shoddy and it's up to us to turn it around now."
