Dina Asher-Smith wins gold at the World Championship in Doha

An athlete from Kent has become the first British woman to win a global sprint title.
Dina Asher-Smith won the 200m race at the World Championship last night in Doha, State of Qatar.
This victory makes Asher-Smith, from Orpington, the first British person to win a world or Olympic sprint title since Linford Christie at Stuttgart in 1993.
The 23-year-old also broke the record for the fastest British woman, completing the race in 21.88 seconds.
Earlier this week, she won silver at the championships in the 100m, setting a new British record of 10.83 seconds and making her the first British woman to win an individual medal at the World Championships in 36 years.
She is a member of Blackheath and Bromley Harriers Athletic Club in Bromley.
The medal-winning athlete came back from a broken foot injury in 2017 to win silver in the women's 4x100m relay at the London World Championships.
