Margate keyed up for Trophy clash
00:00, 15 March 2002
MARGATE face the biggest match of their season on Saturday when they entertain Nationwide Conference rivals Morecambe in the FA Umbro Trophy quarter-finals.
Victory at Hartsdown would propel the Gate into the semi-finals for the first time in their history and within touching distance of a place in non-league football's leading showpiece final at Villa Park.
Officials are hoping for crowd in excess of 2,000 and Gate marketing officer Peter Leberl is under no illusions about what the match means to the club. He said: "The players have performed well to maintain a high position in the Conference but this is our most important game so far this season."
Normal admissionprices apply for the Morecambe match, meaning entry is £7.50 for adults, £5 for pensioners and £3 for under-14s. For £10, supporters can buy a family ticket which enables admission for one adult and two children under-14
