Cody McDonald says Gillingham boss Martin Allen will turn around League 1 form

Gillingham striker Cody McDonald has thrown his backing behind boss Martin Allen.
The Gills have yet to win in League 1 this season and have gone nine games without a victory in all competitions.
McDonald was on target against his former club Coventry on Sunday but Gills still lost 2-1.
He said: “I am not saying we deserved to win on Sunday but we can’t keep playing well and working hard for each other for it not happen.
“It is important in the next few games that we get a couple of back-to-back wins and then all of a sudden we could be in mid-table. It’s important we stay positive and keep performing.
“The manager has been great because it has been difficult for him as well not winning but he has stuck with the lads.
“We don’t deserve to be down the bottom. There is great quality there but we just haven’t got over that winning line.”
He added: “It was nice to score against my old team but it doesn’t matter because we didn’t get a result. Hopefully, I will score next week and we get a win.
