A busy night of Ryman League action saw Margate lost 2-0 at Dulwich Hamlet in the Premier Division.
Three goals in six minutes, just after half-time, sent rock-bottom Cray Wanderers crashing to a 4-0 defeat at Bognor Regis Town.
Maidstone United moved up to second with a 4-0 win over Kent rivals Thamesmead Town.
Jerrome Sobers put the Stones ahead inside 60 seconds at the Gallagher Stadium and goals from Zac Attwood, Frannie Collin and substitute Fabio Saraiva underlined the dominance of the home side.
It was a night a few goals in Division 1 South. Faversham Town drew 0-0 with Whitstable Town at Salters Lane, while Sittingbourne’s home game against Corinthian Casuals also ended goalless.
A late goal from Roland Edge (pictured) saved Folkestone Invicta from defeat against basement boys Eastbourne Town as their game at the Fullicks Stadium ended 1-1.
Ramsgate beat Hythe Town 1-0, with Macauley Murray scoring the only goal, while Herne Bay lost 2-0 at home to Hastings United.
In Division 1 North, leaders VCD Athletic continued their magnificent start with a 2-0 win at Cheshunt. Nick Reeves and Ben Payne were on target for the Vickers, who have won 10 of their first 11 games and drawn the other. Tuesday’s win leaves them 11 points clear at the top.
Chatham Town led Brentwood Town 2-0 thanks to goals from Kieran McCann and Alfie May but the visitors came back to earn a 2-2 draw.
Elsewhere in the division, Erith & Belvedere lost 2-0 at Tilbury.
