Margate recovered from the shock of conceding a first-minute opener to beat Wingate & Finchley 3-2 at Hartsdown Park on Tuesday night.
Matt Bodkin's penalty and new signing Gary Borrowdale put Margate in front.
Ahmet Rifat levelled from the spot just before half-time but Gate clinched the points and moved up to ninth place in the Ryman League Premier Division when Richard Avery struck six minutes from time.
Struggling Thamesmead Town drew 1-1 at home to Hampton & Richmond Borough.
Theo Fairweather-Johnson's early goal gave Mead a half-time lead but Joe Turner struck early in the second half.
A Ryan Golding hat-trick helped Sittingbourne claim an impressive 4-2 victory at Kent rivals Ramsgate in Ryman League Division 1 South.
He opened the scoring with an early penalty and secured a 2-1 lead at the break after Aaron Millbank had equalised.
Golding completed his hat-trick nine minutes into the second half and ex-Rams striker Joe Taylor extended Brickies' lead before Ian Pulman's consolation.
Sittingbourne are up to 16th in the table, while Rams remain seventh.
A strong Maidstone United side were 3-1 winners at home to Hythe Town in the third round of the League Cup.
Alex Flisher's sixth-minute strike was cancelled out by ex-Stones captain Shaun Welford.
Frannie Collin restored the lead and Charley Robertson clinched United's progress from the penalty spot.
