Miller optimistic despite defeat

"DON’T rule us out yet," was the message from Gillingham man-of-the-match Adam Miller after Saturday’s dispiriting 1-0 home defeat against Northampton.
Miller’s performance was a bright note in an otherwise poor display, but the midfielder believes if manager Mark Stimson can bring in the right people, the season could still end on a high.
He said: "We have about another 20 games to go and that’s almost half a season. It’s such a tight table and there’s no consistency.
"If the gaffer can pull a few more people in, do what he’s got to do, then there’s no reason why we can’t do something.
"If we get a few people here, tinker with it a little bit, then I can’t see it being a problem.
"I’m still positive to knuckle down, get into the top half and reach the plays-offs.
"There is no reason why in my mind we can’t get into the play-offs – none at all.
"The team is still not really the gaffer’s team and I’m sure he would admit to that.
"He wants to get people in and will probably get a few people out who he doesn’t want here. Once he gets that done I’ve got total confidence in him."
