Maidenhead United 1 Dover Athletic 2 match report
09:34, 17 March 2014
A superb late goal by substitute Ricky Modeste earned Dover their second away win in five days on Saturday.
Modeste, who came on for Moses Ademola midway through the second half, curled home a brilliant 89th-minute strike to help Chris Kinnear’s side maintain their Skrill South play-off charge.
Dover had taken the lead after just eight minutes when Tom Murphy broke clear before before beating United keeper Jannick Nlate but Maidenhead, who had lost their three previous home games, equalised four minutes later through Adrian Clifton.
Whites keeper Mitch Walker then denied Maidenhead a half-time lead when he pushed away Reece Tison-Lascaris’s volley and chances were few and far between at both ends in the second half until Modeste popped up with his winner.
Whites will be on their travels again on Thursday when they take on Havant & Waterlooville.
