Mulligan believes Gills are on the up

STRIKER Gary Mulligan feels the only way is up now for Gillingham.
Mulligan, who scored twice in the 3-1 win at Huddersfield on Saturday, believes the performances are improving and he’s confident the side can soon battle it out at the top.
He said: “Looking at the teams we’ve played recently, we had Forest at home and we deservedly won that and we beat Southend at home.
“We played a Huddersfield team who beat Birmingham last week and we deserved to beat them.
“If we can continue playing like we are in the next two home games then great. It’s a great chance to get six points and all of a sudden we’re just outside the play-off places.
“The team spirit has got better as the season has gone on and the lads are feeling stronger now.
“The new manager has come in and given us belief. The fitness work is hard but as it showed against Leyton Orient – and we should have won that – it’s paying off. Hopefully that can continue.”
