Nutter setting his sights high for new season

Defender John Nutter isn’t afraid to set Gillingham high targets.
Nutter, who is likely to be first choice in defence next season, believes the higher they aim the better.
“It would be great to get 100 points and 100 goals,” said the 26-year-old left-back.
“That might not be achievable but the closer we get to that the more chance we have of going up and that would be a nice target to hit.”
Nutter knows a good start will be vital to the club’s promotion aims and is targeting nothing less than a win at Bournemouth.
“Saturday is the first time we step out in a competitive game and we’ll be looking to get some points on the board,” he said.
“Pre-season is just about getting your fitness and your sharpness ready for the first game. All the hard work is out of the way now and we can kick on and try and win as many points as possible.
“Bournemouth will be handy and they ended last year quite well. We’ll have to be on our game but we’re confident we can come away with some points.”
