Sittingbourne are through to the FA Cup third qualifying round for the first time since 1997 after a 2-1 win at Thamesmead Town on Saturday.

The home side had Lewis Tozer sent off and Nick Dunsdon then put the Brickies in front, before Karl Beckford levelled from the penalty spot.

But joint-manager Nick Davis put Sittingbourne back in front and the Ryman League Premier Division hosts finished with nine men when Theo Fairweather-Johnson was given his marching orders.

Chatham Town are on their best FA Cup run for 20 years thanks to a 2-1 win at Southern Counties East side Whyteleafe. Kieran McCann and Alfie May scored the goals which sent the Chats through.

The all-Kent clash at Stonebridge Road saw Folkestone Invicta bow out after losing 1-0 to Ebbsfleet United. Daryl McMahon's sixth-minute free-kick proved to be the winner.

Maidstone United are through, though, courtesy of a 4-1 win at Merstham. Frannie Collin scored two of the Stones goals while Zac Attwood and Alex Flisher were also on target.

Charles Ademeno put Margate ahead from the penalty spot but they ended up losing 2-1 to Dulwich Hamlet at Hartsdown Park.

Faversham Town's cup run came to an end on Sunday when they were beaten 2-0 at Horsham.

There were a handful of league games played on Saturday.

VCD Athletic are now 14 points clear at the top of Ryman League Division 1 North after they won again, 3-2 at home to Maldon & Tiptree. Sherwin Stanley rattled in a hat-trick for the Vickers.

A 3-2 win over Waltham Abbey lifted Erith & Belvedere to 13th. An own goal got the Deres back in the game at 1-1 and their other goals were scored by Laurence Collins and Mo Conteh.

Herne Bay lost 4-2 at Peacehaven & Telscombe in Division 1 South and Ramsgate were held to a 1-1 draw by Walton & Hersham.

In the Robert Dyas League Cup, a Dave Cook goal earned Hythe Town a 1-0 win away to Whitstable Town.
