Sandwich Town’s Australian batsman Marnus Labuschagne fell 17 runs short of scoring his third consecutive century in the 54-run defeat against Sevenoaks Vine in the Shepherd Neame Kent Cricket League Premier Division clash at The Butts on Saturday.
The former Queensland under-19 captain, who had scored 127 and 203 not out in his two previous innings, top-scored with 83 as his side were all-out for 224 in reply to the visitors' 278-9.
Nicholas Sale took 6-49 for Sevenoaks, including the wicket of Labuschagne, the leading run-scorer in the division.
Earlier, Sevenoaks opener John Bowden scored 78 off 88 balls including 13 fours and a six.
Elsewhere, defending champions Hartley suffered a two-wicket defeat at home against Bexley - it was Hartley’s second consecutive loss.
Scott McKechine scored 88 not out as Hartley posted 240-7 off 55 overs.
Bexley replied with 241-8 in the 54th over. Sam Weller took 4-65.
Canterbury also lost by two-wickets at Bromley after Australian international all-rounder Dan Christian starred with the ball for the home side.
Captain Stuart Drakeley scored 64 as Canterbury were all-out for 205 after Christian captured 6-43 off 14.5 overs.
Christian, who is playing for Middlesex in the NatWest T20 Blast, then opened, scoring 26 as his side replied with 206-8.
Imran Quyyam took Christian’s wicket and finished with 4-59.
Kent batsman Daniel Bell-Drummond scored 56 to help Blackheath beat Bickley Park by 47 runs in a low-scoring affair.
Daniel Magin took 5-28 as Blackheath made 156 before Bickley could only manage 109 in reply.
Raza Ali Dar scored 108 for Beckenham in the winning draw against Lordswood.
Beckenham made 270-5 before Lordswood finished on 185-9.
