EFE SODJE wants the Gillingham fans to turn their jeers into cheers on Saturday.

The defender was frustrated at the response of the travelling fans at Southend, after the side were booed off the pitch, and he’s urged the supporters to give them a much-needed lift at Priestfield.

Sodje said: “The fans have to come and support us on Saturday, cheer us on and be happy.

“We’ll be coming out with 100 per cent spirit and we’re looking forward to it. After the Southend game, there was a section booing and that isn’t the right thing to do.

“If you really want the best out of the players you have to get right behind them one hundred per cent. Booing the team gives the opponents and advantage.”
