Stimson rubbishes Freeman rumours

MARK STIMSON has dismissed reports suggesting striker Luke Freeman has already joined Arsenal.
The Gills manager also rubbished suggestions in the national media that a £500,000 deal had been struck for the 15-year-old.
"He’s still a Gillingham player," said Stimson. "Luke is in the process of maybe going across to Arsenal.
"At the moment the chairman and someone from Arsenal are sorting the details out.
"I’ve read that they’ll pay £500,000 for him and I said to the chairman 'happy days' but it’s not going to be anywhere near that type of money unfortunately for us.
"It will be something that, if he makes the grade at Arsenal, then we’ll get rewarded and there will be some kind of fee for the transfer. He’s a special talent."
Freeman is expected to agree a deal within days with Gillingham keen to get as many add-ons to the transfer as possible, including a lucrative pre-season friendly.
