New Gills defender Kortney Hause won’t let his lack of experience get in the way if something needs saying.

Hause, who has joined on a youth loan deal from Wolves until January, will speak up in matches – even though he’s only 19 and has never played in League 1 before.

Outlining the qualities he brings to the team, centre-half Hause said: “I’m quite athletic and I do try to talk.

"You don’t expect that from a young lad but I do try to talk and organise and be demanding.

“I’m quite good on the ball as well, so you can add passing out from the back.”

Left-footed Hause will compete with John Egan, Leon Legge, Devante McKain, Callum Davies and transfer-listed Adam Barrett for a place in central defence.

He’s been handed the No.5 shirt but hasn’t arrived from Molineux expecting to walk into Peter Taylor’s side.

He knows Wolves, who he joined in January after starting 21 games for Wycombe Wanderers in League 2, will be keeping tabs on his progress.

Hause said: “I’ve just got to work hard and keep listening to the manager and the players.

“I haven’t expected to come in and start games. I’ve just got to come in and do my best and hopefully I can start some games.”

He added: “Every time I train I’m looking to give 100% and see where that takes me.

“All the staff at Wolves, before I left to come here, said they’re going to send someone down every week to come and watch me if I’m playing, so they’re going to keep a close eye on me.”

Hause has featured in 1-0 defeats at Dover and Ebbsfleet since joining Gills last week.
