Gillingham boss Peter Taylor wants to end their League 1 season in style against Shrewsbury

Manager Peter Taylor will be hoping his Gillingham team finish with a flourish this weekend.
Taylor has already led the Gills to League 1 safety and they face bottom-of-the-table and already relegated Shrewsbury at Priestfield on Saturday.
“We are desperate to finish off the season well here,” said Taylor. “Our season hasn’t been good enough but I would like us to play with a bit more freedom on Saturday and play well.
“Shrewsbury’s season is all finished now and they know exactly what is happening, but I am sure there are players there out of contract, who are trying extremely hard to win another with their club.
“We have to make sure we do it right and I think we owe that to our supporters. Hopefully there will be a nice atmosphere on Saturday, because we are safe, that was the target and that’s good."
“We’ve got Division 1 football next season but I would like to finish off with a positive performance that means everyone can say, ‘yes it was a disappointing season but it wasn’t that bad’.
The Gills could finish the season in 15th place with a win.
