Manager Peter Taylor will continue to assess his Gillingham trialists in pre-season

Manager Peter Taylor is in no rush to make a decision on Gillingham’s trialists.
Winger Josh Stanford and left-back Gary Borrowdale played the first half of Gills’ 2-0 friendly win at Bromley on Tuesday.
Taylor wants to give Stanford every chance to prove he is capable of stepping up from non-league football.
The former Tunbridge Wells wideman was on trial at Ryman League Maidstone when he was invited along to Gills.
Taylor said: “I’m still looking at Josh. I didn’t know him before he came in and I’m not putting a time limit on him.
“From what I’ve seen, he has a good attitude, a good left foot and good balance."
Borrowdale is still trying to convince Taylor he can handle the physical demands of League 1 after a spell out of the game.
The Gills manager added: “Gary’s got to get himself to the levels I’m looking for. It’s not that I expect more of him because I know what a good player he can be – it’s simply that he needs to reach a certain level of fitness to play in League 1.”
