Tonbridge Angels 1 Weston 0 match report
09:05, 17 March 2014
Debutant Alex Teniola scored an 89th-minute winner as Tonbridge beat Weston 1-0 at Longmead on Saturday.
The former Hertford striker’s header gave Angels their first victory in six games and it’s now only goal difference keeping them in the Skrill South relegation zone.
Tommy Warrilow’s side, second bottom in the table, took the game to fifth-placed Weston in a lively start.
They found themselves up against 10 men after Naby Diallo was sent- off for two yellow cards midway through the first half and went close to breaking the deadlock when Nathan Pinney was denied on the line by defender Dan Gregson.
Striker Pinney had further chances after the break, while Tonbridge had a strong penalty claim turned down following Jamie Laird’s challenge on Tom Collins.
Tonbridge scored the only goal with a minute remaining when Pinney’s cross was headed home by Teniola.
Angels play Basingstoke away on Tuesday night.
