We spent the week making sure the mistakes we made at Colchester have been dealt with.

At times you probably learn more about players, about staff and about the team in general when you lose a game. There are certain things that we all can improve on. You never want to lose but when you do, you need to make sure we stay level, like we did after the Wolves game.

We just look at areas that we can improve on and things we can get better at. We keep doing the basics that we do every day well and get better at them, improve on other little areas and try and keep moving everything forward.

We were disappointed not to get anything from the game but we’ve learned things about ourselves and picked up on areas we can improve on. I am sure there will be a good atmosphere on Saturday when we host our rivals Swindon at Priestfield.

What they’ve done is use the loan market well, with their connection at Tottenham. They are a good passing team, they like to get the ball down and move it around and they are comfortable on the ball. It will be a good test for us and they are up there doing well.

Mark Cooper, their manager, has shown good credentials and deserves everything that is happening for him and the success that he is getting.

He has managed in the Conference and various levels including the Championship. For someone so young, he has gained great experience.

Often us young English coaches get branded as not being willing to try new things and experiences but Mark has proved the opposite.
