Crewe v Gillingham
GILLINGHAM defender Ian Cox is set for a return to the side for tonight's League 1 trip to Crewe.
Boss Mark Stimson may turn to Cox as he looks to improve the club's dismal away form, which has yielded just a single point from eight games this season.
The centre back has spent a week recovering from a thigh injury, while midfielder Cogan may also return to the squad after missing out against Hartlepool.
Stimson said: "Cox would be perfect to slot back into the back four.
"I said to Barry Cogan: 'be positive and keep on the up because you have a future here, you've got a good attitude and I like that'. He wasn't in the 16 last Saturday but he could be on Tuesday."
The Gills boss is determined to start turning the side's fortunes on the road around and has renewed optimism that they can record their first victory away from Priestfield.
He added: "If you go through a two or three-game run and get seven points out of nine, then you jump up three or four places.
"It gives you a chance and helps get you into the pack where we want to be at the turn of the year.
"We're expecting a good football game. I want to match the chairman's ambition. I've come here with still a lot of games to go and there's a lot of points to play for.
"All we can do is treat each game as a cup final and try to win more than we lose."
Meanwhile, Stimson must decided which five of his seven loan players will feature tonight. Striker Shabazz Baidoo and defender John Nutter missed out last week and will be itching to make their debuts.
