Wesley Shrubsole Angling: Youngster enjoying the fishing in Kent during lockdown
06:00, 11 February 2021
In these dark times when all the news is bad it makes your heart sing when you see a young angler out with his dad enjoying the magic of our beloved sport.
I think when this pandemic is just a memory many of us will never take freedom and fishing quite so lightly again.
Our local beaches are showing some nice thornback rays to just over 5kgs, fish of this size will get your pulse racing as they fight all the way to the beach.
Lakes and rivers are all brim full and dark brown so the fish are not in the feeding mood.
The rivers though will fish better for this flood and March could see some bumper catches just before the close season.
If you've got a catch worth showing off you can email wesleyshrubsole@gmail.com
