Corrie star to walk at castle
15:43, 26 September 2013
Former Coronation Street star Sally Lindsay will be leading a charity walk in the grounds of Leeds Castle on Sunday.
The Alzheimer’s Society is organising it to raise money to support people with dementia and help fund research.
It is a cause close to the heart of the Manchester actress, best known for playing Shelley Unwin in the soap, who is a celebrity ambassador for the charity.
She said: “‘My gran died 20 years ago after living with dementia. But things have come a long way since then. The Alzheimer’s Society is amazing. There are so many services.”
Around 800 people are already signed up for the walk, with 3km and 10km routes through the parkland.
Free registration opens at 9am and the walk begins at 10am. The fundraising target is £50 per person.
