Accident stops coastbound traffic on M20
15:50, 03 January 2018
An accident brought the coastbound M20 to a standstill on Wednesday afternoon.
Traffic was halted after a crash at around 3.20pm involving a car and a box van on lane three between junction seven for Detling and junction eight for Leeds.
All three lanes had reopened by 3.40pm after the vehicles involved were moved to the hard shoulder.
There are delays as the crash has left slow moving traffic.
A spokesperson from Kent Police said: "Officers are currently at the scene of a collision involving two cars on the coastbound carriageway of the M20 between junctions seven and eight."
One person is being treated at the scene with injuries that are not thought to be life threatening.
