Girl racer Laura Tillett has big plans to make it all the way to Formula 1.
The 21-year-old from Addington gets the chance to showcase her skills as the only girl competing in the Formula Renault BARC class at Brands Hatch on Saturday and Sunday.
Her Sunday race is set to feature on ITV4, while up to 40,000 are expected with the main event the final round of the British Touring Car Championship.
Tillett said: "Hopefully, it will help get my name about.
"I love taking on the boys but they don’t like it much if I beat them! You get the odd comment but I’m happy to give them stick back!"
Tillett started karting aged 11 and is determined to get to Formula 1 one day.
She added: "There’s no reason why a girl can’t compete on an even footing with boys.
"It’s finding the right sponsors to help you and it needs a team to take that leap of faith.
"A girl putting her heart and soul into the sport can be every bit as good as a boy."
