The air ambulance has been called to a multi-vehicle crash on the M20.
The motorway is currently blocked coastbound due to the serious incident between junction 5 for Aylesford and junction 6 for Medway and Maidstone.
Paramedics from the air ambulance and police officers are in attendance.
The force confirmed it was called at around 6pm this evening (August 9) to a serious crash involving a number of vehicles.
It is understood the accident happened on the coastbound carriageway, however, the oppoiste carriageway was also stopped to allow the helicopter to land.
By 8pm, the London-bound traffic had been released but the coastbound carriageway was still closed while the emergency services attended the scene.
Traffic is being diverted via the M20 distributor road.
National Highways has asked motorists to consider alternative routes and allow extra time for journeys.
