Alert over dough balls
00:00, 04 February 2005
PIZZA Express has recalled some of its dough balls from supermarkets after it was discovered some may contain shards of metal.
A routine quality control check at the Avance plant on the 20/20 business park in Maidstone, where the dough balls are made, found that small pieces of metal may have contaminated some batches.
As a safety precaution Pizza Express has taken some off the shelves and is asking customers to return any boxes they may already have bought.
The affected batches are 024AA, 025AA, 025B, 27AA, 027B and 028B. The batch numbers can be found on the front of the box.
Anyone who has bought an affected batch should return it to the shop where it was purchased and they will be given a full refund.
No other Pizza Express products are affected.
