Appeal after alleged attack on delivery driver

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a 33-year-old delivery driver was apparently assaulted while on his rounds.
The incident happened when the allged victim stopped his van outside a shop in Tonbridge Road, Maidstone. On returning to his van, it is alleged that a woman was seen taking items from it.
A verbal altercation followed, upon which it is believed another man ran at the delivery driver while the woman is said to have punched him in the back of head.
The delivery driver managed to get back to his van but was then allegedly struck on the head by an object believed to have been thrown by the man.
Police say this man is white, approximately 5ft 10in tall and in his mid 30s. He is of stocky build and had shaven hair. At the time of the alleged assault, at about 1.30pm on Friday, May 12, he was wearing blue jeans and no shirt.
A 31-year-old woman from Maidstone has since been arrested in connection to the incident and has been bailed pending further enquires.
