Appeal after boy is truck by HGV

POLICE today renewed their appeal for witnesses after a 10-year-old boy was seriously injured in a collision with heavy goods vehicle.
The incident happened in Old Tovil Road, Maidstone, at around 4.45pm on Friday.
The red and white articulated Leyland DAF lorry, towing a double length trailer unit, was in collision with the boy in Old Tovil Road, at its junction with Eccleston Road and Courtenay Road.
Police say the vehicle was travelling from East Farleigh to Maidstone.
The boy suffered serious injuries and was taken to Maidstone Hospital where his condition was described as “stable”.
