Man arrested after BMW X5 stolen from driveway in Bearsted

A suspected car thief has been charged and remanded in custody.
Liam Wells, 31, was arrested in connection with the theft of a BMW X5 from a driveway in Gault Close in Bearsted near Maidstone.
The vehicle was stolen late on Friday, August 30. The following day, it was found abandoned nearby.
On Wednesday last week, officers detained Wells at his home, which is also in Bearsted.
He was later charged with aggravated vehicle taking, as well as driving without a licence or insurance, and possession of cannabis.
He appeared before Medway Magistrates Court on Friday and was remanded into custody until his next court appearance at Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.
