Assault in Week Street, Maidstone, sends victim to hospital after being stamped on head

A man was taken to hospital after reportedly being beaten and stamped on the head during an assault.
Police were called to the incident on Week Street in Maidstone.
A man was punched, fell to the floor and was repeatedly kicked and punched. He was then stamped on the head with both feet.
Officers arrived at 1.10am on Tuesday (February 13) after being alerted by CCTV operators and arrested Aaron Coxhead and took him into custody.
The victim, in his 40s was rushed to hospital and has since been discharged.
Coxhead, 34, of Victoria Road, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Nottingham was later charged with attempting to cause grievous bodily harm, with intent to do grievous bodily harm.
He appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on the following day (February 14) and was remanded in custody.
His next hearing will be at Maidstone Crown Court on March 11.
