Arrest after police chase on M20

Police arrested five people after a chase on a Kent motorway.
Officers had asked the driver to pull over in Malling Road, Snodland at 11pm yesterday but the driver failed to stop.
The vehicle was followed and the pursuit came to an end on the M20 where officers carried out a tactical stop near Junction 7 for Detling.
Five people were arrested on suspicion of driving offences following the incident and three police cars received minor damage. One police officer received a minor injury.
Yordon Chifligarov, 21, of Whitehall Road, Canterbury, was arrested and later charged with various driving offences. He was bailed to appear before Maidstone Magistrates’ Court on Friday, April 28.
The four others, aged 17, 20, 22 and 25 years old, were all arrested on suspicion of going equipped for theft and bailed until Thursday, April 27.
The road was closed between Junction 7 and Junction 8 for Leeds following the chase, and was reopened at 3.40am.
