A woman has been arrested after a pensioner had £500 cash swiped from under his nose.
The victim in his 70s went to the Lloyd's Bank in Week Street, Maidstone, on January 31 to use the cashpoint.
As he put in his card, a man began speaking with him and distracted him.
He later found that £500 – the most that can be withdrawn from an ATM in a Lloyds branch – was taken without him knowing.
The Kent Crime Squad began an investigation and on Thursday a woman was arrested in connection with the incident.
Chantal Ahmed, of Mayville Road, Ilford, was later charged with conspiring with another to commit fraud.
The 54-year-old appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday where she was remanded to Maidstone Crown Court on April 5.
