Armed police swooped on a residential street and made arrests after understanding weaponry could be held inside a property.
The force descended onto Waterloo Street, in Maidstone, at around 3.30pm this afternoon (April 19).
A witness said they saw armed police, multiple emergency vehicles and a drone flying over the road and then heard a “couple of people shouting”.
A man and woman were then arrested almost three miles away in Bicknor Road on suspicion of malicious communications offences.
They remain in custody and inquiries at the address on Waterloo Street are ongoing.
Armed officers attended as a precaution following concerns a weapon may have been present at the address.
Update: Those arrested were released pending the outcome of further police inquiries.
