00:00, 08 October 2004
FIREFIGHTERS were today called to a blaze in an old water mill on Boarley Lane, Sandling, near junction six of the M20 at Maidstone.
Despite their efforts the building suffered 100 per cent damage. Police are investigating the incident and believe it was started deliberately.
The road was closed as two pumps from Maidstone, one from Larkfield and another from Medway attended the scene. Fire crews were called at about 7.15am. They were there for some hours.
