A SINGLE mother woke up to find her car blazing after it was torched by arsonists.
Claire Brennan, 28, grabbed her 14-month old daughter and found shelter in the stairwell of her flat in Wallis Avenue, Park Wood, Maidstone, at about 4am yesterday.
Police believe the fire could be linked to another blaze in Brishing Lane about an hour earlier.
Miss Brennan said: "I woke up at about 4.30am and I heard a loud popping and banging. I looked up and there was an orange glow in the bedroom. I found that my car was ablaze.
"I just got my child and took her downstairs. I was terrified that something would come flying through the window."
Maidstone firefighters arrived at the scene at 4.35am and took 10 minutes to put out the blaze. The car was destroyed.
Anyone with information about the fires should call Maidstone and Malling Police on 01622 608189.
