A former shop has been demolished to make way for a block of flats.
Work has begun to turn what was Bathstore in Tonbridge Road, Maidstone into 19 apartments.
The two-storey building, just up the road from Maidstone West Railway Station, has been reduced to a pile of rubble.
Planning permission for the change was granted in September 2021.
The site will be developed to include a four-storey building with 15 parking spaces behind it. There will also be a bike shelter big enough for 20 bicycles.
Thirteen of the flats will be two-bedroom, with six being one-bedroom apartments.
According to documents submitted with the plans, their price range is going to be in the region of £170,000 to £250,000.
The latest building site is opposite the former American Golf shop in Tonbridge Road which has also been demolished after plans were submitted to build 83 homes.
The land had previously been earmarked for business use only under a former Maidstone council planning blueprint.
