Beauticians from The Reef Spa in Gabriel's Hill, Maidstone, complete charity trip

Beauticians from a Maidstone spa have completed a charitable journey that has taken them to the very edge of the country.
Clare Cockell, Jenny Thuysbaert, and Kelly Heaver, who are all managers at The Reef Spas in Gabriel’s Hill, spent eight days on the road making a variety of stops on their way to John O’Groats.
The trio left town for Lands End two weeks ago and returned from their Be Beautiful and Give campaign last Thursday.
From the tip of Cornwall the women headed north in their Mercedes van, stopping at a variety of charities on their way to the tip of Scotland.
At each stop they would offer beauty treatment to charity workers and hand over a share of more than £2,000.
The girls spent most of the trip camping, apart from one night where they stayed at the Royal Marines 45 Commando basecamp in Arbroath.
Clare Cockell said: “It was really good. It was a lot more challenging and daring than we expected it to be.
“I think each charity loved it and we definitely want to do something like this again. It was very rewarding.”
Stops on the trip included Bowel Cancer West in Plymouth, the Jessie May Children’s Hospice at Home in Bristol and The Hospice of the Good Shepherd in Chester.
Further stops up north included Blackpool Cats in Care, Keswick Mountain Rescue, Sands Stillbirth and Neonatal death, Help for Heroes and the Highlands Homeless Trust.
Donations are still coming in and if you would like to make one visit www.justgiving.com/ReefBBG.
At the end of the url type a numeral between 1 and 9 to see the different charities the company is raising funds for.
