Demoncon 9 returns to Maidstone this Sunday with organisers expecting up to 1,000 visitors

12:00, 11 February 2015

A comic convention which attracts people from all over the country could see 1,000 visitors for the first time.

Demoncon 9, which is run by the Grinning Demon shop in the Royal Star Arcade, Maidstone, has attracted hundreds of fans each time it has been held, with visitors enjoying seeing artists in action, characters in costume, and all things comic-related.

Organisers believe this Sunday’s event could be the largest yet.

Grinning Demon owner Graham Beadle said: “It just keeps getting bigger and bigger, although I wouldn’t want to move it to a bigger venue, as I like that is still family friendly.”

There will be characters dressed in authentic Star Wars and Judge Dredd costumes mingling with visitors and shoppers in the High Street.
